Tesla Resolves Personal Injury Lawsuit For $13 Million

Need Guidance? Get in Touch

PARRIS attorneys successfully obtained a $13 million recovery on behalf of our client, Teodora Tapia, who was injured while working as a janitor at a Tesla Factory Store in Fremont, CA.

Tesla Injury Lawsuit: What Happened

While trying to move a European version of a Tesla Model S to a separate location within the warehouse, defendant Joseph Aguilar mistakenly put the car into drive and crashed into Teodora, crushing her lower extremities. Because of the European layout of the Tesla that Aguilar was driving and the fact that he wasn’t certified to operate the vehicle, Aguilar lost control of the vehicle and pinned Teodora between two bumpers.

Teodora is now permanently disabled and is unable to work or provide for her family. After she called PARRIS for help, we set about fighting for her recovery.

Tesla’s Settlement: A Client Victory

After a long battle, Tesla settled the case on the eve of trial. The jury had been selected, but opening statements had not yet begun.

While her life will never be what it was before the accident, this $13 million recovery will help her cover her ongoing medical costs and lost wages. She no longer has to worry about providing for her family.
